Altough the Niedere Tauern range looks like gentle grassy hills from Tamsweg, it should not be underestimated. A characteristic feature are the stands of larch and Swiss pine as well as the steep scree-filled cirques and the rocky peaks which require hikers to be sure footed and have a head for heights. | |
